LOCKSTEP RELEASES NEW VERSION OF IGETMAIL™ VERSION 2.0 - ADDS ON TO SMTP E-MAIL SERVERS TO AUTOMATICALLY DOWNLOAD E-MAIL FROM MULTIPLE REMOTE SERVERS TO A SINGLE, LOCAL SERVER Paradise Valley, Arizona, October 15, 1999 - - Lockstep Systems™ today announced the release of IGetMail™ version 2.0. IGetMail is an add-on to SMTP-compliant e-mail servers designed to automate and streamline remote e-mail downloading. IGetMail solves the problem that is created when companies use an Internet Service Provider (ISP) to host their Internet domain(s) and they also use a local SMTP-compliant e-mail server. Companies in this situation do not receive their inbound mail on a timely, consistent basis. Popular Windows e-mail servers such as Microsoft Exchange and Eudora World Mail only download incoming mail when sending outgoing mail; creating a potential for time gaps that can leave messages sitting on remote servers. IGetMail bridges the gap that exists between the servers by systematically checking for inbound mail and downloading messages to the local e-mail server. The new IGetMail version 2.0 supports the ability to download and sort e-mail from multiple remote e-mail servers. This feature is designed for companies that receive e-mail addressed to more than one Internet domain. IGetMail version 2.0 gives e-mail administrators the ability to centralize the downloading of mail from various remote servers to a single SMTP e-mail server. Version 2.0 also supports the ability to download incoming e-mail from multiple third-party individual e-mail accounts. The e-mail administrator can map individual third-party e-mail accounts to an address used by the local e-mail server. This feature gives the administrator the ability to fetch e-mail from individual third-party accounts and saves the end user time because all their incoming e-mail flows into a single in-box.
